How do I sync product data from my supplier?
This guide walks you through the process of configuring Mothership to sync product data from your suppliers. Follow the steps below to ensure that the pricing and inventory data in your store reflects the latest updates from your suppliers.
This guide assumes that you already have products imported into your ecommerce store from a Mothership supplier. To learn how to import products from your suppliers, please check out this guide: How do I import products from my supplier?
Configuring Product Export Settings
Mothership allows you to configure separate product synchronization settings for each of your suppliers.
To configure your partnership settings, click on the on the supplier's link in the menu on the left. On the following page, click on the supplier you want to configure. You should then be taken to the supplier configuration page. Scroll down until you see the Product Export Settings card in the picture below.
The Set retail prices on export setting tells which of the supplier's prices Mothership should use as the retail price when creating a product in your store.
Automatically adjust retail prices to mirror supplier's retail prices? - Should mothership update the retail price of a product in your store whenever the retail price of the product in the supplier's store changes?
Sync inventory? - Should mothership track and update the inventory counts to reflect the inventory counts in your supplier's store?
- Automatically reconnect disconnected products - Should Mothership automatically reconnect products that have been disconnected from your ecommerce platform?
Mothership expects retailers to merchandise Mothership products so that they are tailored to the retailer's customer base and unique retail requirements. As such, once a product has been exported to your store, Mothership will not update any of the merchandising content, such as titles, descriptions, images, or tags.

Automatic Synchronization
Mothership automatically updates the products in your ecommerce platform with the latest inventory and pricing updates from your suppliers according to the product export settings configured above. We pull the latest updates from your suppliers once per minute and push them to your platform on a soft-real-time basis.
Manually Triggering a Sync
You also have the option to manually sync product data if necessary.
To sync all products:
- Navigate to the product page by clicking Products in the left-hand menu
- Click Sync products.
- This will update inventory and pricing for all connected product variants.
To sync an individual product:
- Search for the specific product on the Products page and open the product configuration page by clicking on it.
- Click Sync button seen at the very top of the product page.
- Select Sync connected variants. This will sync inventory and pricing data only. It will not update merchandising content.
