How to Reset a Product Imported From Mothership
Use this guide to learn how to reset a product that has been exported from Mothership into your e-commerce platform. This ensures that the latest content updates from the supplier, such as images and other product information, are accurately reflected.
Product Reset Process
We begin by addressing how to update a Shopify product with the latest content changes from the supplier. For instance, we might be missing some images and do not have the latest updates.
- Sign into the Mothership portal and navigate to the 'Products' section. Here, you will find a list of products available from your suppliers. Locate the product you wish to reset.
- Click on the desired product to open its detail page. From this page, select the 'Sync Product' button located in the top right-hand corner.
- From the dropdown menu, select the 'Reset Product' option.
- A confirmation window will appear, prompting you to choose the types of data you want to reset. You can select elements such as titles, descriptions, and tags, images, and variants for resetting.
5. Click the 'Reset Product' button to initiate the process, which will run in the background.
- Return to the product page in Shopify and refresh the page. You should now see that the product has been reset, including updated images, additional variants, as well as the reset title, description, and tags.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Resetting a product is a destructive action. This means that any custom images, descriptions, or merchandising elements added will be removed. Variants may also be replaced, so consider the inventory stored on those variants before proceeding with the reset.
